INFORMATION
SHEET

CLUB MEETINGS

Jefco Aeromod’lers Club meetings are held the first Wednesday of every month in the cafeteria of Sheridan Middle School, 4107 So Federal Blvd  (From Federal & Oxford, turn west on Oxford, to stoplight, turn left.  The building is on the east side of the street approximately 1½ blocks south of the intersection).   “Hangar Talk”  (an informal get-together before the meeting) begins at 6:45 p.m. and the Business Meeting follows at 7:30 p.m.

CLUB PURPOSE

To promote the building and flying of radio-controlled model aircraft; and to aid, insofar as possible, the national program of the Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA) and other AMA activities - looking toward the continual advancement of modeling in the United States of America.

CLUB FLYING SITE

Our flying site, Chatfield Aerodrome, is located in the southeast section of Chatfield State Park, directly south of the campground.  The runways were paved in 1978, with monies raised by the club with matching funds from the US Army Corps of Engineers.  Since then, the club has invested another $120,000+ in additional improvements.  In July of 1989, the club was presented the Parks Partners Award, the first ever given by the Colorado Division of Parks and Outdoor Recreation, “...for recognition of Jefco’s outstanding efforts and contributions in making the flying field a reality.  And to recognize the cooperative partnership existing between the Club and the Division in promoting the sport of model airplanes and outdoor recreation at Chatfield State Park.”

CLUB RULES

Anyone flying and/or using the Chatfield Aerodrome must abide by the Colorado State Parks Rules and Regulations and the Field Safety Operations Guideline of the Jefco Aeromod’lers Club.  Anyone flying a model airplane at the Aerodrome must use ONLY a current FCC type certificated model AIRCRAFT frequency radio (Ham Operators excepted).  See back of sheet for additional rules.

CLUB MEMBERSHIP

Membership in club is open to anyone who is a current AMA Member and interested in the building and flying of radio-controlled aircraft.

Members receive the following:

A monthly Business Meeting with informative, constructive programs
